The construction of the project ST-192 freezer fishing trawler Kapitan Martynov to the class of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) has been completed. The flag raising ceremony took place at Admiralty Shipyards on March 1, 2024. Andrey Fasolko, RS Deputy Director General, and Mikhail Kuteev, Head of the Baltic Branch, took part in the event on behalf of RS.

The vessels are designed for pollock and herring fishing, equipped with a modern trawling complex and means of mechanizing fishing gear, as well as high-tech equipment that enables to process products directly on board. The vessel is 108.2 meters long, 21 meters wide, has a cargo hold capacity of 5652 cubic meters, a speed of 16 knots and is capable to carry a crew of up to 155 people on board, including personnel of the fish processing complex. An innovative electric power plant allows the efficient use of the shaft generator in trawling mode at a reduced speed of the main engine, ensuring significant fuel conservation.

A series of modern high-tech trawlers of the ST-192 project are being built by order of the Russian Fishery Company under the state program of investment quotas. Construction work under RS survey has been in progress since 2017. Captain Martynov is the fourth vessel of the project. The first three ships are currently successfully operating in the fishing areas of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Bering Sea. Two more trawlers are under construction – Captain Yunak and Mekhanik Shcherbakov. A total of eleven units are to be built in the series.
