Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) took part in the All China Maritime Conference and Exhibition – Marintec China 2023. The event was held from December 5 to 8 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), China.

The RS booth at Marintec China 2023 displayed key areas of the organization’s activity in Asia. In his interview with TASS, Sergey Kulikov, RS Director General, noted the recent considerable increase in the volume of work as well as the expanding RS presence in the Chinese market. Currently, RS has offices in Tianjin and Shanghai.

"Chinese industrial enterprises supply a significant amount of marine equipment which needs to be certified before their delivery to Russia. The certification of such products is among the most in-demand and rapidly growing areas of RS activity in China. At the same time, work related to vessel repairs in Chinese ports continues apace. A number of shipbuilding projects with Russian participation are also being worked on," remarked RS Director General. He spoke of the technological leap that the Chinese maritime industry has made in recent years alongside the prospects of cooperating with Chinese enterprises, emphasizing his company’s readiness to assist in establishing business ties.

Over the course of the exhibition, the RS booth, being the only Russian booth, turned into a meeting point for representatives of domestic and Chinese companies. The heads of leading Russian and Chinese industry enterprises were able to continue their dialogue at the reception organized in celebration of the 110th anniversary of RS.

As part of its activities in the People's Republic of China, RS has attended a number of important industry forums in the past month. Within the framework of the China Marine Economy Expo 2023, which took place from November 23 to 25 in Shenzhen, RS specialists introduced the competences and expertise of the organization to the maritime industry representatives operating in the southern provinces of China. RS services were also widely presented during the Tianjin International Shipping Industry Expo 2023. In addition, RS employees spoke at the 11th National Sea Ice Academic Conference in Harbin.
