under Maritime Labour Convention, 2006

Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC) adopted on 23 February 2006 at the 94th Session of the ILO General Conference came into force on 20 August 2013. MLC along with SOLAS, MARPOL and STCW Conventions is ranked among the major international instruments regulating the activities of maritime industry.

MLC requirements apply to all ships. After MLC enforcement all ships of 500 gross tonnage and over engaged in international voyages have to carry and regularly endorse Maritime Labour Certificate and Declaration of Maritime Labour Compliance.
